BREAKING: Sean Hannity just eviscerated Shep Smith for the latter’s recent comments bashing Fox News, the network they both work for.
Mediaite reported that Smith, who just signed a contract for two more years with Fox, just said in an interview that the main reason he stays with the network is because he worries “what would go in [his show’s] place.” He also slammed the network’s opinion shows, saying they don’t “really have rules” and exist “strictly to be entertaining.”
Hannity immediately fired back on Twitter to defend Fox from Smith’s insane attacks.
“While Shep is a friend with political views I do not share, and great at breaking news, he is clueless about what we do every day. Hannity breaks news daily-Warrant on a Trump assoc, the unmasking scandal, leaking intel, Fisa abuse, HRC lawbreaking, dossier and more REAL NEWS!” Hannity wrote.

Host Laura Ingraham called out Smith for what he said as well.
Always liked Shep, but his comments were inconsiderate & inaccurate. The hard working team at the Ingraham Angle does real reporting, develops impt sources and scores big interviews. Very proud of them. https://t.co/3aR1EHAK3Z

Smith appeared to cower away from Hannity and Ingraham on Friday afternoon when he suddenly announced that he would be going on a “previously-planned one-week vacation. He then joked that when he returns “everything will be peachy-keen & hunky-dory.”
“That’s what they always say: Previously planned and one-week vacation,” an amused Chris Wallace replied.
“I have the airline tickets. It’s been booked for awhile. Tell everyone down there [in Washington, D.C.,] hello for me, OK?” Smith continued.
Frankly, we think Smith’s comments about his home network were completely uncalled for, and we think Fox should take action against him immediately. SHARE this story if you think Fox News should FIRE Shep Smith!
